Little Things to Improve Your Home

It’s always good to improve your home – for whatever reason that may be.  In today’s blog, I just wanted to cover some quick ideas to help improve your home’s safety, atmosphere, luxury, and/or usefulness.

One idea for luxury within your home is to equip both your bedroom and living room with TV.  Some people go with one or the other, but it’s always nice to have the option of TV while you’re in bed.  One luxury decor item I recommend for atmosphere  is mirrored furniture.  Mirrored furniture reflects the contents of your room so it matches anything, but more so than complements, it adds dimension and space.

For safety outside the home, it’s good to add guttering to keep water away from your home and the surrounding land.  This prevents water from seeping into your foundation and also from collecting in low spots in the yard.  Another preventative measure that can save you headaches later is to seal bathroom and kitchen corners and creases with caulk.  One more tip is to replace air filters in your home at least every 18 months.

Other changes I recommend include replacing your light bulbs every 6 months, buying a steam carpet cleaner, and recruiting a full array of kitchen appliances to improve your cooking preparation and timeliness.  Of course, you’ll want to make sure you have ample storage for the home.

If you have a spacious backyard of at least 4-5 acres, sometimes it’s fun to camp outside during good weather.  Of course, you want to have good camping chairs so you can enjoy the scenery outside your tent and just relax by reading your favorite book or reflecting on things in your life.
