What Water Filter or Water Purifier Should I Buy?

After consciously processing how much money I spend on bottled water and developing a large distrust of the water supply in general, I’ve decided I need a water purifier.  Bottled water gets contaminated from the plastic that surrounds it and from what I’ve read some is bottled with tap water anyways.

I really hate that my city infected our water supply with fluoride.  In my opinion, you never ever touch the water supply – no matter what virtuous deed you think you’re doing.  You leave water only if it’s pure.  As you can tell, I simply do not trust those that are indirectly or directly (depending on how you think about it) making decisions for me.  Because I don’t know where else to turn for clean water, I want to buy a water purifier to help me get the cleanest water I can possibly drink.

Price really isn’t a concern with the water filter here, but I would like to avoid a situation (if at all possible) where I have to constantly buy new water filters to keep the purification process up.  I’ve compiled a list of water filters from Amazon that I’m considering.  If anybody has any experience with these, I’d love a comment with an honest water purifier review.
